ROOSEGAARDE’S TECHNO CHURCH

LOTUS DOME, designed by Studio Roosegaarde, is a living dome made out of hundreds of smart flowers which fold open in response to human behavior. When approaching the silver dome the petals begin opening and the dome becomes illuminated casting shadow patterns on surrounding surfaces. The more people interacting with the dome the more dynamic the mood becomes, even to the point of following and playing with people as they begin to walk around the room. The graphic representations of the lotus flower on the walls, and the deep bass sound, transforms the Renaissance environment into a ‘Techno-Church’.
