When you walk into the courtyard of Hotelschool The Hague campus Amsterdam you find Large 6 meter pillars of light and sound. It’s an unique, interactive and creative art object. Daan Roosegaarde was inspired by the connection between Europe and Asia and wanted to create a ‘zen garden from Mars’ in Amsterdam. Since a lot of the Hotelschool students leave for Asia after graduating, this place is connecting them a little to the eastern continent in contrast to the hard concrete building. It’s a small piece of Asia in Amsterdam where you can relax and watch high tech bamboo. The result is exceptional.

The artwork consists of huge pillars of interactive LED light. Make a walk through the poles and hear the sounds and see the green light interact with you. The more you ‘connect’ with BOO, the more dynamic the pillars of light become. When you’re around, you have to visit Boo by Studio Roosgaarde.

It’s situated at:
Jan Evertsenstraat 171
