When we wander a new place like rookies in the new, we always look for local sublimes. Like the best coffee in town, an awesome view behind a fense or a local bakery rich of history. All the stuff only locals know or know how to appreciate. So, to start off the LOCALS CHOICE SERIES we asked some of the locals in our home town The Hague about their favorite hang outs and local sublimes.

LOCAL SUBLIME – F.A.S.T. SCHEVENINGEN

“That’s the great thing about this place, there’s always something going on!”
– Now that’s what we call a local sublime!

Pascalle loves the hippie styled elements that are scattered all over the terrain; “Wood chips, colored flags, freight containers and small wooden cabins really give F.A.S.T. a laid back feel” – she says. “If you drop by any day of the week, you can run into a vintage clothing market, a bbq, or even a cool new band”.

After discovering this superchill hang out, Pascalle got totally excited about another part of the surfer village… “The people are laid back, the coffee is good, the food is great, and you can enjoy all of this with a beautiful sea-view sunset… What more can a person ask for?”
We can’t say she’s wrong about that… F.A.S.T. is not located in the center of The Hague but at the very edge of Holland’s natural boarders… Wich is quite awesome and will give you a rare experience of freedom when visiting one of Holland’s bigger cities.

F.A.S.T. (Free Architecture Surf Terrain) is founded by DOEN events, to be a hideout for surfers from all around the world. After a day of surfing in Scheveningen, surfers and other beach-lovers can park their van, set up their tents or just book a night at the beach hostel and have an easy evening drinking, partying and share goodtime memories around the fire. But ofcourse all the events held at F.A.S.T are accessible forĀ  ’the public’ aswell.

You can enjoy food, feelgood and freedom with a beautiful sea-view sunset… What more can a person ask for?
